Alright, buckle up, because we’re diving headfirst into the La Spezia: Отель CDH experience! Forget the glossy travel brochure, we’re getting real about this Italian Riviera adventure. And trust me, after battling the Russian snow this winter, a trip to the sun is exactly what the doctor ordered. Let's see.
First, the Basics (but let's keep it interesting, shall we?)
Accessibility: They say they're friendly to folks with mobility issues. That's a huge plus because, well, Italian cobblestones are no joke, and even a healthy traveler can end up feeling like they've climbed Everest. Hopefully my future self will be capable in my old age to still travel!
Internet & Stuff: Wi-Fi in your room? Free?! Bless the internet gods! And they have LAN access, too. This is especially important if you need to do work, or, you know, catch up on your favorite Russian TV shows. I would prefer to use my own.
Cleanliness & Safety: (Because let's be honest, who wants to catch anything on vacation?)
- They're going hard on the sanitizing. Anti-viral cleaning products? Check. Daily disinfection? Check. Staff trained on safety protocols? Sounds good. Sanitized everything? Excellent!
- It's a huge relief that they're taking this seriously. I'm one of those people who walks around with hand sanitizer glued to my hand so this is a win for me!
- Room sanitization opt-out available. Cool, right? If you’re like me and trust nobody… haha.
- The Food safety.: They have individually-wrapped food options and a safe dining setup. This is a huge relief too!
Things to Do (and ways to get blissed out):
- Spa time! Ah, the sweet promise of a body scrub, body wrap, sauna, steamroom, and massage. Seriously, I can practically feel myself melting already. I need this.
- They have a pool with a view! Need I say more?
- For the fitness fanatics, there's a gym. I feel tired when I think about that.
- They don't have a foot bath? Ok, I'm not that picky…
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking:
- Restaurants, bars, poolside bars, coffee shops, and a snack bar. My inner glutton is already drooling.
- A la carte, buffet, and room service. I appreciate options.
- Special mention for the “Asian cuisine” – intrigue me!
- They do have vegetarian options, which is helpful if you’re traveling with a picky eater (or are one yourself).
- I love breakfast. Breakfast buffets are the best!
- Oh, and Happy Hour? Sign me up!
Services & Conveniences:
- Concierge, daily housekeeping, doorman, laundry, luggage storage, currency exchange… everything you think you need, they probably have.
- Air conditioning in public areas (essential for Italian summers).
- They offer a business center, which is good for the remote worker (or the "I have to check my emails occasionally" type, like yours truly).
- Car Parking They have free parking too! A much appreciated quality.
- They have an audio-visual equipment for special events. Who knows, I might propose to my future husband, so it's very useful.
For the Kids: (Since I don't have kids, I didn't pay this one much attention. Just keeping it real here, sorry!)
Getting Around:
- Airport transfer, taxi. Handy.
- Free car parking! That's always a bonus in Europe. Valet parking too, very fancy!
- Bicycle parking – great for exploring the area.
Available in All Rooms (The Nitty-Gritty Details):
- Air conditioning (essential!).
- And they say that they really care about the safety of the guest. They have safety/security feature.
- Alarm clock, black-out curtains, a coffee/tea maker, complimentary tea, and daily housekeeping.
- The Perfect room: the best thing is to be a non-smoking, soundproof rooms, with additional toiletries, like bathrobes.
- Free Wi-fi, and a mirror. That is all I need.
- Also, there's a lot other stuff, like a hairdryer, slippers, and high-floor.
Alright, let's be real, so far it sounds pretty good. Let's go deeper.
The "CDH Experience" – My Thoughts (and Maybe a Bit of Whining)
Okay, it seems like the hotel's got all the basics covered. But let’s talk about the "feel," the vibe. This is what really matters. Do I feel like they're trying to cater to me? Or am I just another tourist?
- The Food & Drink Rundown. Look, I'm Russian. I'm serious about my food. A good breakfast can make or break my day. A bad one can turn me into a grumpy bear. The buffet… I'm always wary of buffets. I've seen things, you know? The "Asian cuisine" is tempting. If they have real, spicy food… then they've got a winner. And that poolside bar? That sounds dangerous. In a good way.
- Relaxation Station. Spa… sauna… steamroom… body scrub… Okay, I've officially forgotten what I was supposed to be stressing about. I've always wanted to try this.
- "Things to Do" - Beyond the Obvious. What about exploring the town? What's the hotel like if you get bored of lying by the Italian sea? Do they have any interesting excursions lined up? Or will I need to figure it all out myself? Hmmm… let’s hope they can provide insight.
- The Little Touches. Does the room have a decent view? Is the Wi-Fi strong? Are the staff genuinely friendly, or just going through the motions? These small details can make a huge difference between a good trip and a great trip.
My Verdict (So Far):
Based on the info, the La Spezia: Отель CDH seems promising. It hits the right notes on the essential stuff (cleanliness, safety, good location). It's got some serious potential for relaxation (spa, pool, etc.). And the prospect of good food and a poolside bar definitely appeals to the inner hedonist in me!
But here's the million-dollar question: Does it feel like the kind of place where I can truly relax and recharge? That's the thing I can't determine from a list of features. It requires a personal touch. It requires soul.

(My Messy Journey)
Alright, друзья! (Friends!) Let's be honest, planning a trip is a colossal pain in задница (ass). But this time… La Spezia! Italy! I'm supposed to be relaxed, embracing the "dolce vita." Yeah, right. More like "doltso vite" (stupid life), because I'm already running late. My flight was delayed, and I'm pretty sure I left my favorite scarf on the plane. (In general, let's go!)
Pasta Panic! (Arrival, Panic, and Pasta Panic!)
- 14:00: Okay, finally landed in Pisa. The airport smelled like… well, it smelled like airport. Which is to say, vaguely of sadness and instant coffee. Grabbed the train to La Spezia. Prayed I didn't get pickpocketed. (My paranoid self is already buzzing.)
- 16:00: Found the CDH Hotel La Spezia. It looks… fine. It's clean, the lobby is a little sterile, but hey! Air conditioning! This is a win, especially with the scorching Italian sun beating down. The receptionist, bless her, struggled with my broken Russian, I mumbled my very basic Italian, and somehow, we got through check-in. Now I have to remember what room number I'm in…
- 16:30: Room. Small. Cleanish. Okay. Dropped my bag. Immediately realized: no scarf! Damn. My Italian luck is already turning sour.
- 17:00: EXPLORATION TIME! Or, as I like to call it, "Wandering Around Looking Lost." Wandered. Got lost. Asked a grandma with a shopping cart for directions. She understood me, somehow. She gave me the MOST enthusiastic directions, all with hand gestures and a rapid-fire of Italian I barely comprehended. I got a smile out of her, which in my book, is a good start.
- 19:00: Pasta panic. Hunger is setting in. Found a tiny trattoria down a side street. The menu, all in Italian. Google Translate to the rescue! Ordered… well, something. It involved tomatoes, and cheese, and possibly death by deliciousness. I felt like a tourist, and I loved it. The pasta arrived. I took a bite. Oh, mother of God. This is what life is all about. The owner, a portly man with a handlebar mustache, saw my reaction and beamed. He even refilled my wine glass! I'm in heaven.
- 21:00: Walked back to the hotel, slightly tipsy and very full. Watched the Italian news, completely understanding nothing, but enjoying the passionate gestures. Fell asleep with the window open, listening to the sounds of the city, which actually put my anxiety at bay.
День 2: Cinque Terre Chaos and Gelato Goals
- 08:00: Awoke to the sounds of the garbage trucks (the Italian ones are LOUD) and the smell of espresso drifting up from the street. Needed that espresso. Desperately.
- 09:00: Breakfast at the hotel. Nothing to write home about… but a decent enough coffee, and some bread with a type of jam as sweetener. Needed fueling up for the Cinque Terre adventure.
- 10:00: Train to Cinque Terre. The train was PACKED. Like, sardines in a can. I kept my eye on my bag, remembering the pickpocket anxiety.
- 11:00: Arrived at Monterosso al Mare - the first stop. The sheer beauty of the place almost made me cry. The colors! The sea! It's like something out of a postcard. Took a million photos, of course. (We all do.)
- 12:00: Trail hike time. The trail was NOT easy. Up, down, up, down. My legs were burning. The sun was brutal. I cursed myself for not bringing enough water. Seriously, who brings less water than I do?
- 13:00: Stopped in Vernazza. Found a tiny bar with a gorgeous view. Ordered a spritz and just… breathed. Watched the people, feeling the warmth of the sun on my face, and felt like I could actually exist in that moment.
- 14:00: Continued the hike. Almost collapsed from exhaustion. Found a gelateria. Gelato. Oh, glorious gelato! Pistachio and lemon. My tastebuds were singing. This justified the grueling hike. Totally.
- 16:00: Train back to La Spezia. So tired. So happy. Felt a sense of real awe.
- 18:00: Back at the hotel. Showered, crashed on the bed.
- 19:00: Dinner. Found a restaurant recommended by the hotel. It was… okay. Nothing compared to that pasta from yesterday. (Still dreaming of it.)
- 21:00: Wandered along the harbor. Watched the sunset. Italy is doing its job.
День 3: Marine Museum, Market Mayhem, and a Pizza Revelation (and the Scarf's Mystery)
- 09:00: Went to the local market. My Russian roots felt the urge to find the best products; I saw locals, lots of fresh fruit and smelled the lovely aromas of spices and cheeses.
- 10:00: Tried to navigate the Marine Museum. Honestly, I'd prefer to be getting lost again. I don't understand ships! But I tried! The exhibits were interesting-ish.
- 12:00: Market lunch - amazing.
- 14:00: Trying to get the scarf back; went to the airport, asked the airport staff, they didn't know about it… it seems like that I will never see my "scarf" again.
- 16:00: Found my favorite pizzeria! The pizza was cooked in a wood-fired oven. The crust was perfect. The toppings, simple but divine. I ate the whole thing. No regrets.
- 18:00: Back to the harbor. Tried to draw the sunset in my notebook.
- 20:00: Decided to go out for one last cocktail at a local bar.
День 4: Farewell, La Spezia (and a Promise to Return)
- 08:00: Breakfast at the hotel. Still not great.
- 09:00: Packing. The dreaded task. Realized I bought too many souvenirs.
- 10:00: Check-out. Said goodbye to the lovely, but slightly bland, CDH Hotel.
- 11:00: Train to… where am I going next? Honestly, I can't remember.
- 12:00: Reflecting on the trip. La Spezia, you were a delightful mess. Thank you for the pasta, the sea, the gelato, and the moments of pure joy. I WILL be back, probably with another lost scarf.
… And now, on with the next adventure and hoping to find a Russian restaurant next time. (Until we meet again!)
Naydi Hotel
